Wendy’s has had two different women do commercials for them since Dave Thomas died. One is the original Wendy herself, Wendy Thomas. After she was in a few commercials Wendy’s all of a sudden switched to a new red head to do the commercials for them. Hmmm. Let’s look at these two and see if you can make any kind of a guess as to why Wendy’s made the change:
On the left is Wendy Thomas, on the right is actress Morgan Smith who now plays a Wendy-type character in the Wendy’s commercials. Do you have any guesses as to why the change was made? Hmm. Very interesting.
So it’s obvious why Wendy’s made the change. They want a pretty young red-head to be the face of the company rather than the very plain actual Wendy. Is this helping them? No I don’t think so. I actually hate the new Wendy almost as much as I hate Flo from the Progressive commercials.
Those are just a couple of examples of commercials Wendy’s has done that rather than making me think of when I’m going to go to Wendy’s for a burger, have made me think of all the ways I can get away with vehicular manslaughter if I ever get to run down the new Wendy in the street.
Wendy’s please bring back Wendy Thomas. I don’t care if she’s not as pretty as Morgan Smith. I don’t go to Wendy’s because some moistened bink lobbed a scimitar at me. I go because every now and then I feel like paying nearly an Arby’s or Culver’s amount of money for fast food and the line at McDonald’s is too long.
Bring back Wendy Thomas. Keep the spirit of Dave Thomas alive. Dave wasn’t a TV star either but he did commercials and things sure seemed to work out ok there.
