We are about a month away from the start of the start of the Fall TV season and we haven’t really discussed it much.
Being guys we watch a lot of sports. I was listening to Mike and Mike on ESPN this morning and they do a segment called 2 A Days where they scout 2 NFL football teams.
It got me thinking that this would be a good way for us to cover the upcoming Fall schedule. So without further adieu, I bring you 2 A Days with Mike, Mo & Mark.
What better place to start our 2 A Days than with FOX.
FOX has chosen a different strategy this year by stagger it’s premier dates to avoid having their new shows go head to head with other networks. Time will tell whether it’s a sound move or not, but it would seem something NBC should definitely consider.
Up first, Monday night’s on FOX will be Bones & Sleepy Hollow.
Bones – Premiers Monday September 16th at 7PM CST.
Hard to believe the upcoming season will be the show’s 9th season. There have been a whooping 166 episodes during the first 8 seasons.
The show is a mainstay on my DVR and is a priority watch. While I love the show, as a critic I must admit now that the main characters have finally gotten together, the show has a lost a little bit of mystery.
Even though the show has lost a little zip, I congratulate the cast on crew on quite a run to this point. Here’s a link FOX released at Comic Con with some sneak peaks at the upcoming season.
Bottom Line – Must Watch
Sleepy Hollow – Premiers Monday September 16th at 8PM CST.
From Wikipedia – After Ichabod Crane “dies” during a mission for General George Washington in 1790, he awakens in 2014 Sleepy Hollow. But so does the Headless Horseman. The horseman begins nightly killing sprees, and Ichabod must try with newly appointed Sheriff Abbie Mills to stop him. Investigation reveals that two occult groups are behind the resurrections – one for good, the other evil. If the horseman is not stopped, dark supernatural forces will affect the Earth.
I’m sure this story line appeals to someone but it’s not me. Feels like it would be better suited for the CW network. I guess one interesting story line is that Ichabod is from the 1790’s and his new partner is a black female. Still though, the story seems ridiculous, and that’s from a guy who loves a show about a dome covering a town.
Bottom Line – I’m Taking A Pass
