We’ve been promised greatness before (I’m looking at you Buckwild) and have been let down. I didn’t want to get my hopes up. In October, the special aired on Adult Swim, and not only were my fears unfounded, I believe the title of the project undersold the true greatness of the product that was delivered to us. If you are a fan of 80s TV, and are particularly a fan of great 80s private detective shows, then that video you just watched should have had you tearing up. I know I was. When I thought it couldn’t get any better, I found out today that a sequel is in the works and will air on June 6. Adam Scott told Jimmy Fallon that the sequel will feature Amy Poehler (who stars on Parks and Rec with Scott) and SNL alum Horatio Sans. They will be recreating another classic TV show but he wouldn’t say which one. We’ll have to find out on June 6 when The Greatest Event in Television History sequel airs.
