The Best TV Show Theme Songs of All Time

For fans of the site, you have to know by now how nerdy we are for TV.  One of the things I myself am most nerdy about is TV show theme songs.  I just love them.  They are an art form in their own right and, sadly, an art form that is dying.  Two weeks ago we talked about an area of TV that got most of us hooked on TV, the cartoons, this week, I want to talk about another area that will bring us all a huge dose of nostalgia, the best TV show theme songs of all time.  When I first started to write this, I had in mind doing a list of 10 or 20.  As I started working on it though, I realized just how many great theme songs there were and I just couldn’t cut any of them off the list so what I’m giving you is 60 of the best TV show theme songs of all time.  Please enjoy.

  1. Another great list Mike. I’m still unsure as to how anything beat out the Dukes of Hazzard. With that said, Cheers is a very respectable choice for #1. The only thing missing that I thought would be on here was the theme from Family Ties.

  2. Great list!!! Personally, the only ones that I believe are missing are The Fall Guy, Three Stoogies, and Knight Rider, but good stuff!

Fall Guy! Cripes!!!! I love that one. Good call on the others too. It was so hard to cut down this list to keep it from being every theme song I ever loved.
