True Blood

Random Picture of the Day

October 11, 2013 // 0 Comments

The title might be a tad misleading, because I don’t post a “Picture of the Day” every day and in fact I’ve never posted a “Picture of the Day” ever before.  And just to mix things up, I’m not going to post one tomorrow.  Take that, establishment! This one is brought to us by the same fella that drew GAME OF THRONES characters reimagined in 80’s/90’s garb which is still going on, by the way… but now we have Eric Northman from TRUE ...Click for More

Seven and Done… True Blood is Over.

September 3, 2013 // 0 Comments

It was only a matter of time before TRUE BLOOD died the true death, and that time will be at the end of the upcoming seventh season.  HBO confirmed today that season 7 will conclude the show’s run.  Which is about 2.5 seasons too long for my tastes, but at least the first 4 were quite excellent. Regardless of the 5th season snafu, enough viewers came this season to warrant another, but even HBO must see the writing on the wall.  It was also confirmed today (epic non-spoiler spoiler ...Click for More

True Blood – Season 6 Review

August 18, 2013 // 0 Comments

The sixth season of TRUE BLOOD was a funny little thing, marking the first season of the show which was not brought to us by the original creator ALAN BALL.  Further rumors of showrunner issues mid-shoot only further fueled my skepticism going into it, but as far as I’m concerned it couldn’t possibly get any worse than last season (even though the last season was still helmed by Ball). The good news is that my last statement held true.  It certainly didn’t get worse.  But ...Click for More

SDCC 2013 Panels Galore!

July 22, 2013 // 0 Comments

It’s that time of year again when the geeks of the world gather to plot their impending global dominance through everything entertainment related.  Yes, it’s SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2013 and it just wrapped up this weekend.  Among all of the social awkwardness, fantasy costumes and acne medication were some very compelling insights into the inner workings and future plans of some of our favorite television shows. Do you hear that, MIDWEST MO?  Television shows.  Not movies. ...Click for More

An Exciting Pair of Renewals

July 16, 2013 // 0 Comments

Good news from the renewal front… yesterday HBO gave word that TRUE BLOOD has been renewed for a seventh season and just today, SHOWTIME announced that their new hit show RAY DONOVAN has officially been renewed for a second season. RAY DONOVAN is officially SHOWTIME’S highest rated original series ever, so it is no surprise that it was renewed quickly.  Although I found the pilot to be a bit uneven, the subsequent episodes have been much more focused and pretty darn terrific, so it ...Click for More

True Blood – Season 6 Premiere Review

June 17, 2013 // 0 Comments

TRUE BLOOD is one of the great shows that I patiently wait throughout the year to premiere.  In a way, it lessens the burning loss suffered at the hands of any given GAME OF THRONES finale. To dial my prior statement back a scosche, TRUE BLOOD was one of the great shows until the A/V abortion that was season 5.  I essentially hated everything about it, and it was clear that either ALAN BALL was tiring of his duties of showrunner or the writers developed  some sort of mind-altering drug ...Click for More

The Walking Dead – This Sorrowful Life

March 25, 2013 // 1 Comment

Shame on me for missing the newest episode of THE WALKING DEAD last night.  Me and my MIDWEST WIFE held an impromptu TRUE BLOOD Season 1 marathon, and since THE WALKING DEAD has mainly consisted of ho-hummery as of late, we continued the marathon in spite of anything else. For those of you unacquainted with TRUE BLOOD, season 1 is extremely good television.  Same with season 2 and peaking in a phenomenal season 3 that pushed the envelope of horror in about every conceivable way. ...Click for More

Watch TV… Burn Calories??

October 29, 2012 // 0 Comments

Disclaimer:  MWTVG claims no responsibility for the beer and/or chips spilled on your keyboard from reading the aforementioned headline. In all seriousness, I stumbled upon an article in The Guardian (because the only legitimate news source on this side of the pond anymore is found here) which cites a study done by scientists at The University of Westminster that essentially says you can burn calories by watching horror movies.  Any horror flick that has frequent “jump ...Click for More
