Fresh off last night’s Golden Globe win for Kevin Spacey for best actor in a TV drama, Netflix has released the House of Cards season 3 trailer.  Here it is: House of Cards season 3 trailer I don’t know about you, but that makes me want to go back and binge watch seasons 1 and 2 so I can get ready. Netflix Predicts the End of TV

November 28, 2014 // 0 Comments

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said recently that he thinks the era of broadcast TV will last until around 2030 or so. Is that just the trash talk of an internet streaming TV company or is he right? I think a bit of both. I do think that we are in the beginning stages of a paradigm shift and have said so many times. That doesn’t make me a genius (I am a genius for many other reasons) because it’s obvious that things are changing. How much are they changing? From 2002 to 2012, there was ...Click for More

Netflix has set the premiere date for BoJack Horseman. What you read is not a typo and I’m not currently having a stroke. They really do have a series coming soon called BoJack Horseman.  All 12 episodes of the first season will be released on Netflix on August 22. Before you immediately dismiss it, you should know that BoJack Horseman stars Will Arnett and Aaron Paul. It is an adult themed animated series that will be the first animated series for Netflix. Arnett stars in the series as ...Click for More

Orange is the New Black Renewed for Season 3

May 6, 2014 // 0 Comments

Netflix continues to make news with their own original productions. House of Cards has completely hit it out of the park and is one of the best shows available on a TV screen. While not as good, Orange is the New Black still has been a success for Netflix enough to the point that they have decided to renew Orange for a 3rd season before season 2 has even premiered. I watched season 1 of OITNB and had mixed feelings about the show. Overall I thought it was pretty good. There are plenty of ...Click for More

Short Poppies on Netflix

April 28, 2014 // 0 Comments

We are big fans of some of the original programming on Netflix. House of Cards for instance, is one of the best shows on TV, broadcast or internet. Hemlock Grove received very positive critical response as well showing that Netflix can make shows that compete with the big boys. I was listening to Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist podcast  today with his guest Rhys Darby. If you don’t know that name, you would probably recognize him as the guy you think is Australian but is actually a Kiwi ...Click for More

House of Cards Season 2 Review

February 17, 2014 // 0 Comments

House of Cards season 2 was released by Netflix on Friday. In true binge-watching fashion, I have burned through all 13 episodes of season 2 over the weekend because when it comes to House of Cards, it’s nearly impossible to just watch 1 episode. If you haven’t watched any of season 2 yet, don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil anything for you. I think what happens in this season has got to be experienced by the fans to truly get the impact. Reading about it here would not ...Click for More

Netflix Says Binge Watching is Here to Stay

December 14, 2013 // 0 Comments

You’ve probably heard the term “binge watching” lately. It refers to someone sitting down and watching an entire season of a TV show in one sitting. The term was an attempt by the TV networks to cast internet studios like Netflix in a bad light. Netflix recently commissioned a survey of their users to find out if binge watching was really the problem the archaic TV studios were making it out to be. What they found out was ...Click for More
