SNL Naked and Afraid

April 3, 2016 // 0 Comments

Peter Dinklage hosted Saturday Night Live last night and it was a pretty good episode. I thought there were lots of funny moments from last night but this one was one of the best of the night. I’ve been very hard on Leslie Jones since she joined the show but she is slowly growing on me. Yes she is basically the same character all the time but so was Chris Farley and so was Adam Sandler. I’m actually starting to enjoy her character. The funniest part of her is that no matter the ...Click for More

The Island Premiere on NBC

May 26, 2015 // 0 Comments

One of my favorite shows on TV is Survivor. When it comes to reality TV, I just don’t think it gets any better than Survivor. It seems that NBC is trying to get in on that action now with the Island premiere last night. The Island is a survivor-like show but without the game aspect and all the tribal councils and voting out that makes Survivor so good. The Island is just going to be about surviving on a deserted island. No games. Just survival. Ok that sounds somewhat interesting. The ...Click for More

I Can Do That

May 1, 2015 // 0 Comments

About 10-15 years ago we reached a point where every conceivable concept remotely imaginable was at some point or other a TV show.  It got so bad that at one point there was not one but two celebrity diving shows airing at the same time. It’s inevitable really as there are approximately 467 channels out there all looking for content.  Hell, I don’t even think current shows are writing all that much new content.  What I mean is that if you watch a lot of TV like us, you may see ...Click for More

SNL With Dakota Johnson

February 25, 2015 // 0 Comments

This weekend Saturday Night Live returns featuring guest Dakota Johnson. I can’t think of a time in recent memory that I’ve been more excited to see SNL than this. Sure Justin Timberlake and Alec Baldwin are awesome hosts, but they’ve hosted like 27 times combined. I’ve been a huge fan of Dakota Johnson since her awesome but failed sitcom Ben & Kate. I especially loved the theme song to the show (click here for link). Watching the promo reminds me that this ...Click for More

A Few Good Men Live on NBC

November 7, 2014 // 0 Comments

NBC has been really getting in to the live TV business. They did The Sound of Music live last year and will be doing Peter Pan live this year. Now there is news that they are working on an agreement to do A Few Good Men live. Most of us know A Few Good Men from the 1992 Tom Cruise movie. Before it was a movie, it was a Broadway play that first ran in 1989 written by The West Wing’s Aaron Sorkin. NBC is in the early stages of working out a deal with Sorkin to bring his play to live TV. He ...Click for More

NBC Cancelling Bad Judge and A to Z

October 31, 2014 // 0 Comments

More shows are biting the dust. NBC announced today that they will not be ordering more episodes of their new shows Bad Judge and A to Z. Two things. First, they are really being cruel in their cancelling of these two shows. Both shows have a 13 episode order from NBC and the network said that both shows will air all 13 episodes. The cruelty? Bad Judge has currently filmed 10 episodes and A to Z has filmed 11. That means that both shows will continue in production with everyone knowing that ...Click for More

Elf Christmas Special Coming to NBC

October 26, 2014 // 0 Comments

NBC is looking to make quite a splash this Christmas. They’ve already got the live action musical Peter Pan set to air in the Christmas season this year and now they’ve added another special. NBC has announced that there will be an animated Elf Christmas special which is set to air on December 16. The animated Elf Christmas special will be a stop motion production that looks pretty similar to the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The show is called Elf: Buddy’s Musical ...Click for More

Marry Me Pilot Review

October 15, 2014 // 0 Comments

I’ve been waiting for this show for a while now. Finally, Marry Me premiered last night on NBC. I was somewhat nervous because of the late premiere of this new show. Anything having to wait until October generally isn’t thought to be very strong by the network. Getting buried with an October 14 premiere date just can’t be a good sign. I was worried. As it turns out, the Marry Me pilot was much better than I thought it was going to be. In fact, it was at the level I had hoped ...Click for More

What’s Wrong with Saturday Night Live?

October 14, 2014 // 0 Comments

Have you been watching Saturday Night Live? Judging from the ratings, the answer is no. No you haven’t been. The ratings for last week’s Saturday Night Live with host Bill Hader were the lowest ratings in the history of the show. The lowest in the history of the show. Let that sink in. So what’s wrong with Saturday Night Live? First let me say that I am an unapologetic fan of SNL. I love the show. I’ve been a fan since 1980 (Eddie Murphy’s first season) and have ...Click for More

NBC announced today that Broadway actress Taylor Louderman has joined the cast of Peter Pan Live!  Louderman will play the role of Wendy Darling in the live production set to air on NBC December 4. A relative unknown, Louderman joins a cast of previously announced stars such as Allison Williams (Peter Pan), Christopher Walken (Captain Hook), Christian Borle (Mr. Darling/Smee) and Kelli O’Hara as Mrs. Darling. Keenan Thompson is Leaving SNL After This Season

September 22, 2014 // 0 Comments

The most tenured African-American performer in the history of SNL is reportedly leaving the show after this season. Keenan Thompson is leaving SNL after the upcoming season finishes according to sources that have spoken with TMZ. It was rumored that Thompson would be leaving after last year but Lorne asked him to stay on another season after the high amount of turnover in the cast last year. Keenan Thompson joined the cast of SNL back in 2003. I didn’t honestly think he would last very ...Click for More

A to Z Pilot Review

September 22, 2014 // 0 Comments

This week is a crazy week with TV shows either coming back or making their debut. If you don’t know what’s coming up this week, I gave a breakdown yesterday that gives you the shows that are returning. There is a lot of TV to watch for sure. I got a chance to watch the pilot for a new show that doesn’t premiere until October 2 so even though this is a busy week, I’ll talk about it so you know if you should add this one to your DVR. Let’s get in to the A to Z pilot ...Click for More

SNL Announces New Featured Player

September 15, 2014 // 0 Comments

Saturday Night Live has added a new cast member it was announced today. Joining the cast as a featured player will be 20 year old stand up comedian Pete Davidson. Davidson was named by Variety as one of the 10 comics to watch back in July and it seems they were right. To be fair though, most of the comics on their list are people who are fairly well known to anyone who follows the comedy world. They may not be household names, but comedy fans already knew most of the names on that list. ...Click for More

Great news for fans of excellent TV. The first season of The Blacklist is on Netflix. If you are not currently a fan, you should do yourself a favor and go binge watch this show so you are caught up before season 2. ...Click for More

SNL Weekend Update Shake Up

September 11, 2014 // 0 Comments

In a move that is frankly very surprising, Lorne Michaels annoucned a big SNL Weekend Update shake up with the replacement of Chicago’s own Cecily Strong at the Update desk. Replacing Strong will be Michael Che a stand-up comic who is best known as a correspondent on The Daily Show. I am not surprised by a shake up at the Update desk but I am surprised at who was replaced, and I’m not alone. Myself and plenty of other fans felt that head writer Colin Jost was absolutely awful and ...Click for More
