Comedians in Cars Getting Cocaine

July 6, 2014 // 0 Comments

Jerry Seinfeld has a web series running right now that’s pretty good called Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Being that he is Jerry Seinfeld, he can pretty much get anyone he wants on to his show and he has. The premise of the show is that Jerry drives around in a different vintage car for each episode, picks up the comedian that will be on the show for the week, and they drive to a restaurant for coffee and conversation. It’s simple and good. The popularity of the show means that ...Click for More

Arrested Development Will Be Back

July 27, 2013 // 0 Comments

Mitchell Hurwitz has confirmed that Arrested Development will be back.  He was asked during a Q&A session at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal whether the show would return and he answered simply, “definitely.” Hurwitz went on to say that he is unsure about whether he will do another season of Arrested Development or whether they will return in a movie.  He did say that whatever he does, he will be bringing the entire cast back together all at once (a recognition of ...Click for More

Arrested Development Documentary Needs Money

March 21, 2013 // 0 Comments

We are huge fans of Arrested Development here at MWTVG (all smart people are) and are really looking forward to the shows return to Netflix in May.  I found out today that there are two filmmakers who have been working on an Arrested Development documentary for the last 5 years and they need money to help finish the project. Head over to this Rolling Stone article to read about what you can get for different levels of donation.  There are “Loose Seal” and “I just blue ...Click for More

Arrested Development Lands Kristen Wiig

February 20, 2013 // 2 Comments

Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig has signed on to guest star in the upcoming Netflix revival of Arrested Development.  In addition to Wiig, Seth Rogan has also agreed to appear on the show that will premiere on Netflix in May.  It is unknown what role Rogan will play, but Wiig is rumored to be playing a younger version of Lucille Bluth (played brilliantly by Jessica Walter) which would make her Lucille 3 on the show. If you are a fan of this blog, and there are many, you know that we are ...Click for More

Up All Night Still Alive

February 16, 2013 // 0 Comments

The NBC comedy Up All Night continues to live on despite star Christina Applegate leaving the show last week.  The comedy about a family with a working mom that has to return to work has not done well in the ratings since it premiered in 2011 and the departure of Applegate isn’t going to do much to help that problem for the network.  Applegate cited creative differences with the shows producers as the reason she was leaving the show which to me means that she has a creative difference ...Click for More

Arrested Development New Season

January 9, 2013 // 1 Comment

Pardon me for my excitement, but Netflix has announced when the new episodes of Arrested Development will air.  The final countdown has begun.  We can expect the new episodes in May.  To say that I’m excited is an understatement. The episodes are supposed to be setting up a feature film but the show’s creator, Mitch Hurwitz, says that even if the movie doesn’t happen, story lines will be wrapped up to reward loyal fans of the show.  He doesn’t want to leave them ...Click for More

Networks Don’t Care What You Think

November 21, 2012 // 2 Comments

Photo courtesy of We have made no secret here at MWTVG that we are upset about LAST RESORT being cancelled.  It really is a pretty good show that ABC just didn’t give a chance to.  First, the show is clearly aimed at men and what did ABC do with it?  They put it on Thursday nights against NFL football.  We have seen in the ratings that absolutely nothing beats the NFL.  If the NFL could find a way to schedule games 7 nights a week, they would win all 7 nights.  Why would you ...Click for More

The 10 Funniest Women on TV (currently)

October 25, 2012 // 3 Comments

So MIDWEST MO wrote an article the other day asking if women are actually funny.  If you are not a fan of 30 ROCK, you probably missed his reference to the show since that is a question that was asked on last week’s episode. So before anyone runs off thinking that we here at MWTVG don’t recognize funny when we see it, here are what I think, and we all know that what I think is what matters, are the top 10 funniest women currently (this isn’t an all-time list, they have to be ...Click for More

When Was Someone Going To Tell Me?

October 21, 2012 // 2 Comments

Ok so I’ve heard people talking about the new NBC comedy that is premiering this week, MOCKINGBIRD LANE, and I thought immediately: pass.  I wasn’t much interested in a re-make of THE MUNSTERS not because I thought that show was bad, but because I idolize that show and I don’t want to see it’s legacy trampled by another re-make trying to cash in on nostalgia. Then I saw who was in the cast. That is Cush, I mean, Jerry O’Connell and I am not afraid to admit that I ...Click for More

A Cleansing of the Palette

October 15, 2012 // 0 Comments

After subjecting myself to 2 BROKE GIRLS tonight, I had to go find some truly funny stuff to clear my brain of the horrors I witnessed. Here is some ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT to cleanse your palette: Some great Gob scenes: Tobias Funke, the world’s first analrapist: The Chicken Dance: David Cross Telling the Truth About Why the Show Was Cancelled: That ought to help out quite a bit.  Thank you ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT for showing the world real ...Click for More

2 Broke Girls, 1 Broke America

October 15, 2012 // 2 Comments

So I watched an episode of 2 BROKE GIRLS tonight because, as a professional writer, it is my duty to do the unpleasant things that professionals sometimes have to do in the name of our craft. So after watching this episode tonight, I have to ask, WTF is wrong with you America?  Over 4 million people watched this show last week!  It was the 11th highest rated show on broadcast TV last week!  What this tells me is that there are over 4 million American’s out there who can’t be ...Click for More

Fox Tuesdays

October 6, 2012 // 0 Comments

Fox just ran a commercial during the WV/Texas game promoting their Tuesday night lineup.  They just said that it was popular but not because of this guy: That’s Schmidt from NEW GIRL and let me tell you something Fox TV, we here at The Midwest TV Guys have been very clear about this, Schmidt is the one that makes that show.  Don’t go running around trying to stuff that tree Zooey Deschanel down our throats. The American viewing public is smarter than that (with the exception of ...Click for More
