30 Rock – It’s Over Tomorrow

January 30, 2013 // 0 Comments

30 Rock ends tomorrow and that sucks.  It’s been an awesome run of 137 episodes leading up to a 1 hour season finale tomorrow. The show began back in 2006 and definitely took awhile to develop it’s groove.  Once Jack decided to mentor Liz Lemon, the show was never funnier. Probably what makes us love the show so much here at MWTVG is that a lot of the characters and actors come from Chicago’s Second City.  I recently read Second City Alum Tina Fey’s Bossypants (yes ...Click for More

30 Rock, I Can’t Believe It’s Almost Over

December 7, 2012 // 1 Comment

As many of you are aware, 30 ROCK is coming to an end in January.  As of now, there are only 5 episodes left.  While others have questioned whether or not they are phoning it in this year, I think the show is as funny as it’s ever been. Let’s not kid ourselves, while Tina Fey is the headline act, Alec Baldwin is the engine that drives the bus.  On last night’s show, Jack Donaghy’s mother, played by Tony award winning actress Elaine Stritch (a Midwestern girl from ...Click for More

And Now You Know…

MIDWEST MIKE let the cat out of the bag a little on this one, but we are starting a new series where we feature Midwestern actors.  One of my favorites is SCOTT ADSIT from 30 ROCK. Scott was born November 26, 1965 in Northbrook, Illinois.  Among other things, he was Second City cast member and had a cameo on FRIENDS.  To see his full bio follow this link. ...Click for More

10 of the Funniest Men on TV (currently)

October 28, 2012 // 4 Comments

Notice how I didn’t call this list the 10 funniest men on TV?  It’s impossible to find just 10 funny guys on TV.  There are really just so many.  To narrow the list some, I am only looking at men who are on TV right now.  This isn’t an all-time list.  Louis C.K. is omitted because his show isn’t on TV right now and I’m guessing it won’t be back.  Otherwise, he would for sure be on this list.  Anyway, here are 10 guys on TV right now that I think are ...Click for More

The 10 Funniest Women on TV (currently)

October 25, 2012 // 3 Comments

So MIDWEST MO wrote an article the other day asking if women are actually funny.  If you are not a fan of 30 ROCK, you probably missed his reference to the show since that is a question that was asked on last week’s episode. So before anyone runs off thinking that we here at MWTVG don’t recognize funny when we see it, here are what I think, and we all know that what I think is what matters, are the top 10 funniest women currently (this isn’t an all-time list, they have to be ...Click for More

30 Rock

October 11, 2012 // 1 Comment

So it’s the final season of 30 ROCK and they just had their premier tonight.  After watching this episode tonight I have to ask, is Tina Fey just phoning it in for the last season?  I don’t think I even chuckled one time during this episode.  They are setting up the exit strategies for each of the characters already and each one of them feels like a stretch. I hope that we are being set up for something here and that we are not just going to have to watch a brilliant comedy ...Click for More
