Seth Meyers Eyed to Take Over Late Night

seth meyersSince it’s pretty much guaranteed that Jimmy Fallon will be taking over for Jay Leno when NBC expertly handles the transition of host duties, there will be an opening at Late Night.  Rumor has it that midwest guy and fellow Northwestern grad Seth Meyers will be taking over for Jimmy Fallon when he Fallon leaves to pee on the grave of Jay Leno.

Seth Meyers is currently the head writer at Saturday Night Live and is the host of Weekend Update.  Guess who the executive producer of Late Night is?  It’s Lorne Michaels.  Guess who runs Saturday Night Live?  Lorne Michaels.  See where I’m going here?  There are rumors and there are rumors but this is one that has some truth to it.  Michaels likes working with known quantities and what better known quantity than bringing in your own talent from one of your own shows?  He did it when he brought Fallon with him to host Late Night and he does it with every movie he is associated with.  I would not be surprised at all if this rumor turns out to be true that Seth Meyers will be the new host of Late Night.  In fact, I’d really like to see it happen.

I agree. I’d love to see this happen. We don’t get enough Seth Meyers on SNL. It’s time to give him his own show.
