The Office

So it’s the final season of THE OFFICE and I just caught my first episode of the season. What I liked was that they returned to their roots and had Jim play a good prank on Dwight. The characters are starting to develop their exit strategies so its feels a bit like watching people try to get to one of the many partially full life boats on the Titanic. On an unrelated side note, WTF McDonalds? I have been playing Monopoly for 20 years now and haven’t won anything better than a small ...Click for More

I just caught the pilot of Lucy Liu’s new show on CBS, ELEMENTARY.  I’m a week behind I know which is sad for a Midwest TV Guy but, I’m a Midwest TV Guy that still has a job unrelated to TV that seems to require quite a bit of my time. Anyway, I just watched the pilot episode and at this time, the show will be staying in my DVR ...Click for More

The Big Bang Theory, Making Aspergers Funny Since 2007

October 4, 2012 // 0 Comments

That’s right people.  Since 2007.  I bet many of you don’t know the show has been on since 2007 since so few of you were watching it back then.  Of course now, everyone is a fan of THE BIG BANG THEORY but that’s a good thing.  It keeps the show from getting cancelled. Here is a scene with the very funny Jim Parsons who plays Dr. Sheldon Cooper and Kaley Cuoco who plays the dim-witted neighbor Penny. What I will be curious to see in this season is what will the writers do ...Click for More

We are yet to really cover any animated shows even though they are some of our favorites.  We will post on THE SIMPSONS, FAMILY GUY, and AMERICAN DAD in due time. As a fan of THE DAILY SHOW and THE COLBERT REPORT I have seen commercials for this new show, which has another COMEDY CENTRAL guy named DANIEL TOSH as one of the voices.  I forgot to TIVO it but just went on-line and watched as much of the first episode as I could take. This was just awful. Don’t get me wrong, I like redneck ...Click for More

The CW

For the now 8 of you who at least once a week check this site out and point out spelling errors, verb tense agreement issues, and the dreaded dangling participles, not one of you has asked why we don’t cover any of the CW Network of shows. First, what is The CW? I had to consult Wikipedia for guidance.  It’s a limited joint venture between CBS and Warner Brothers.  Get it, C(BS) and W(arner Brothers).  However, all the shows air in our area on WGN, so I don’t exactly know ...Click for More

As my co-contributor pointed out in his post about THE MIDDLE, what he likes about the show is that he feels as though the show is following him around.  I think that’s what we like about TV, people better looking and more interesting than us going through the same things we face. All that to talk about last nights episode of GUYS WITH KIDS.  First, it’s filmed in front of a live studio audience.  Why would anyone do that?  It’s not a talk show.  Second, the situations on ...Click for More

The Mayans Might Be Right

According to TMZ, the cast of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been given a giant salary increase.  The cast of this show are now receiving between $15,000 and $20,000 an episode.  You read that right.  How many bags of Funyons and cases of Yoohoo can that buy (I ask because I’m not sure what Rednecks like to buy, but I’m feeling that it’s Funyons and Yoohoo).  Whatever they like to buy, with that kind of money, they will be the Kings of Wal-Mart. Here is a clip of the show in ...Click for More

The Middle

So I watch The Middle.  It should be no surprise being that I am a Midwest TV Guy and The Middle is set in, wait for it, the Midwest.  What is sad is how much the show mirrors my life.  It’s almost as if the writers of the show are bugging my house.  On a side note, if Sue Heck ever loses her boundless optimism and unfaltering positive outlook, I think I will be more crushed than she will ...Click for More

I’m not going to spoil anything about tonight’s Survivor episode here so don’t worry if you haven’t watched it yet.  What I’d like to do for my first post about one of the best reality shows on TV (you can suck it Amazing Race) is to talk a bit about what I’d like to see for some improvements. The Hidden Idol Mark Burnett caught lightning in a bottle when he came up with the hidden immunity idol idea.  What a game changer.  If you have it, you can’t ...Click for More

Come on people this show is really good.  It is getting an 8.3 out of 10 on IMDB, which is really high.  REVOLUTION is getting a 6.6 by comparison and that’s already been picked ...Click for More

Let’s get some discussion going here on what with be the first network TV causality of the season.  As life is not fair it won’t be 2 BROKE GIRLS.  Seriously, this is a terrible show.  Problem is for me it’s like a car crash and I can’t look away. So here are what I see as the contenders (in no particular order): VEGAS (CBS) MADE IN JERSEY (CBS) PARTNERS (CBS THE MOB DOCTOR (FOX) LAST RESORT (ABC) 666 PARK AVENUE (ABC) ANIMAL PRACTICE (NBC) UP ALL NIGHT (NBC) I am ...Click for More
