Animation Domination

October 8, 2012 // 0 Comments

We here at MWTVG have been kicking around the idea that you are sometimes just too old for a show.  On December 17, 1989 Matt Groeing gave us THE SIMPSONS. With Treehouse of Horror XXII, there have been 510 episodes spanning 24 seasons.  If you were to sit down and try to watch THE SIMPSONS all at once, it would take you nearly 180 hours or over 7 days of straight viewing to watch it all.  Simply amazing. Yet, after watching the show last night with my kids (yes it’s bad parenting, but ...Click for More

Shows That Make Me Hope the Mayans Are Right

October 6, 2012 // 2 Comments

Here are some shows that we put on TV here in America that make me hope the Mayans are right and if they are, we deserve it for putting this garbage on TV: 1. TWO BROKE GIRLS – This show is in it’s 2nd season.  It’s 2nd season.  The fact that it was renewed should have sealed all of our fates.  Keep this in mind, there have been 48 episodes of this show ordered.  ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT only got 53 episodes before it was cancelled.  If this show is on longer than ARRESTED ...Click for More

Something to Watch

October 6, 2012 // 1 Comment

It isn’t often that you will find anyone from America recommending anything on BBC America, but I’ve got a show for you that you should be watching. COPPER, BBC America’s first show produced in America for American audiences, is a crime drama set in 1864 New York City.  Produced by Tom Fontana (OZ, HOMICIDE: LIFE ON THE STREET), we follow Det. Kevin Corcoran (played by British actor Tom Weston-Jones) who is a Civil War veteran working as one of the first Detectives in the ...Click for More

Fox Tuesdays

October 6, 2012 // 0 Comments

Fox just ran a commercial during the WV/Texas game promoting their Tuesday night lineup.  They just said that it was popular but not because of this guy: That’s Schmidt from NEW GIRL and let me tell you something Fox TV, we here at The Midwest TV Guys have been very clear about this, Schmidt is the one that makes that show.  Don’t go running around trying to stuff that tree Zooey Deschanel down our throats. The American viewing public is smarter than that (with the exception of ...Click for More

Watching on a Saturday Afternoon

October 6, 2012 // 0 Comments

So it’s Saturday, and rather than watch college football, I decided to flip around the guide and watch any reality show that I had never seen before.  I have landed on this: This is a show similar to Gordon Ramsay’s KITCHEN NIGHTMARES, where bar consultant Jon Taffer goes around and tries to save bars that are poorly run.  Again, like Ramsay, Taffer does a lot of yelling.  One girl has already quit and we are just 1/3 of the way through the show.  His yelling isn’t ...Click for More

Quantum Leap

October 5, 2012 // 1 Comment

One of my favorite shows of all-time.  The finale, just about the best there has ever been in TV.  I’m upset that the producers couldn’t get the rights to the music for the American release of the DVD’s because it totally ruins the show. Here is one of the best scenes from the show: Even more touching than this, is in the finale when Dr. Beckett returns to see Beth to tell her about Al to set it all straight.  I just got goosebumps typing this. What a great show this was. ...Click for More

What can I say, I have kids and have to watch this stuff sometimes.  So if you do, try to push your kids towards these shows: 1.  Phineas and Ferb – I know what were going to do today.   2. Gravity Falls Features the voice of Kristen Schaal from 30 ROCK, THE DAILY SHOW, and BOB’S BURGERS.   3. None.  All the rest feature younger kids and teenagers that takes all my strength not to buy a plane ticket and fly out to LA and punch them.  They make me almost as angry as BIG ...Click for More
