Nerding ain’t easy, it’s hard out there for a nerd. Or is it? Revenge of the Nerds was a movie that came out in 1984. I can’t believe it’s been almost 30 years now since we first met Gilbert and Lewis as they went off to Adams College. Oh the trouble those crazy nerds got into. Who knew that nearly 30 years later three of the guys in this picture would have their own TV shows as I write this blog.
Robert Carradine (“Lewis”). He didn’t want to be a nerd but nerdness was thrust upon him. He really just wanted to go to school, hang out with his friends, and chase some skirts.
Now he is a host of the TBS reality show King of the Nerds.
Anthony Edwards (“Gilbert). He just wanted to fit somewhere. He was not a natural leader, but learned to lead an untrained group of nerds to defeat the hated Alpha Betas.
Now he is the lead character in a new series Zero Hour.
And then there’s Curtis Armstrong (“Booger”). He was just the disgusting one of the group. To his credit, I always thought we’d see him in jail some day for exposing himself to someone somewhere.
Nope, now he is a host of the TBS reality show King of the Nerds.
So there you have it. It takes a nerd about 30 years to make it all work for them. It just struck me as odd the other day that 3 of these guys are lead characters in their own shows.
Hopefully, nerd rule is close to an end. Bill Gates almost owns the world and they have taken over television (Big Bang Theory). There seems to be a correlation between the decline of our country and the rise of the nerds. We need to stop them before they become to powerful. Are you Sarah Connor?
