If there is a war going on between the various whiskey makers out there, I wasn’t aware of it. Apparently, Jim Beam took Dewars’ hiring of Claire Forlani as a spokesperson for their beverage as a shot across their bow. What did they do in response? Well they went out and won the war. The folks at Jim Beam went out and hired Mila Kunis to be their new spokesperson.
Dewars didn’t have much luck with their campaign. At first, people made fun of Forlani’s horrible Scottish accent and then in December, they were forced to pull the campaign because of complaints about the general tone of the commercials.
Jim Beam is not going to have those problems. They aren’t having Kunis use some kind of fake accent and they aren’t putting her is some vague story line. They are having her be her selling an all-American product to people who drink whiskey. Those people by the way also tend to be the same ones who like Mila Kunis so it’s a win-win for everyone.

I don’t know if this is going to increase Jim Beam market share but having Mila Kunis as your spokesperson is never going to be a bad idea.
