How I Met Your Dad Pilot Approved by CBS

himymIn you have got to be kidding me news, CBS has approved a How I Met Your Dad pilot to be created. How I Met Your Mother is mercifully ending after this season (but not before torturing the fans that still watch) and apparently CBS isn’t ready for their gravy train to come to an end.At this point there is no need to evacuate your homes. There is only a pilot commitment from CBS which means the pilot has to be written and then go through the pilot process before a series is possible. It’s not a 100% given yet that we will be subjected to a How I Met Your Dad water-boarding so don’t be alarmed…yet.

How I Met Your Mother creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays are writing the How I Met Your Dad pilot and are executive producing with Up All Night creator Emily Spivey.  It is said that the show will be a kindred spirit of How I Met Your Mother and will tell the story from a female point of view.

If we are lucky, this project will not move past this pilot process. We have already been tortured with 9 seasons of TV’s whiniest character, Ted Mosby, telling the world’s longest story about how he met the mother of his kids. If there is any justice in this world, HIMYM will end with Ted’s kids killing him in a fit of rage (which would explain why Ted’s voice changed to Bob Saget after he was already an adult).

CBS, you already have 2 Broke Girls. You have given us some of the worst TV in the last 10 years. Please don’t do this to us. I beg you.
