It’s a Festivus for the rest of us! Happy Festivus everyone! We would be remiss if we didn’t recognize one of the greatest alternative holidays ever created by TV. There has been a much less publicized war on Festivus over the years but we are here to keep the tradition alive. We want to keep the festive in Festivus. It’s gotten so commercial lately. Here is the story of Festivus for those who may not remember:
Frank Costanza is one of my all-time favorite TV characters. He was a minor character who didn’t show up too often but every time he did, it was gold Jerry. Gold. The Festivus episode of Seinfeld is one of my favorites of the show. I know everyone always talks about The Contest. But for me, Festivus ranks up there. It highlights perfectly the lunacy of Frank Costanza, the shiftiness of George, and the cluelessness of all the rest who happily go along with the holiday (and don’t forget Kramer’s strike).
If you are celebrating Festivus today, don’t forget the airing of grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people and now, you’re going to hear about it.
Happy Festivus everyone! Don’t forget to make a donation to the human fund!
