Happy Endings Cancelled by ABC

happy endings

In more WTF TV news, Happy Endings has been cancelled by ABC.  We found out recently that the geniuses at NBC cancelled two very good freshmen shows, Go On and 1600 Penn, while saving the now awful Community.  Now, apparently not wanting to be seen as less stupid than NBC, the geniuses at ABC cancelled what is one of the funniest shows on TV.

We here at MWTVG have been fans of this show from the very beginning and have done all that we can to talk it up.  It’s set in Chicago (although not filmed here), and stars a very funny ensemble cast lead by one of the men I think is the funniest on TV, Damon Wayons Jr.  There are rumors that USA could be interested in Happy Endings if ABC does cancel it, but as of yet, there has been no news on that front.

One of the things that sucks about being a super smart professional TV writer with exquisite taste is that even when I like a show, I am sometimes unable to convince the unwashed masses to watch it.  RIP Happy Endings.  Hopefully we see you on the USA Network.

  1. And yet 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly are still on the air.

I’ve never even heard of this show. I think ABC does a bad job promoting their shows.

      • It was one of the more humorous shows on TV. It was a lot like Friends and the cast was actually pretty solid. Damon Wayons Jr is one of the funniest guys on TV right now. How this show can’t make it is mind boggling. Maybe one of them needed to take one for the team and make a sex tape and then have it “mistakenly” released.
