Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

Comedians-in-Cars-Getting-CoffeeAdd this to the list of things I had no idea existed until yesterday.

I might be best known on MWTVG for my complete rejection of all modern sitcoms, and it’s not just because I’m some sort of fuddy duddy… there’s actually a specific reason for it.  One of my all-time favorite shows is SEINFELD, which massively pioneered much of what we see in sitcoms today and is nothing but copied over and over and over ad nauseaum.  As far as I’m concerned, once you’ve watched SEINFELD, you’ve watched it all.  So I choose to not watch any of it.

JERRY SEINFELD himself happens to be one of my all-time favorite comedians, and one of my biggest television-related disappointments was when SEINFELD never came back.  I remember being equal parts excited and upset about the series finale (which ended up being a massive disappointment, but that’s besides the point), and I was convinced afterwards that they were only on hiatus, because “it’s only a year” and that was one promise that never came true.

So imagine my joy when I discover such a funny and charming little webshow called COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE.  Chalk this one up to truth in advertising, because the title essentially gives away the gist of the show.  Jerry Seinfeld jumps in a car, calls a comedian friend of his and take them out for coffee.  Although it sounds mildly boring, it is an extremely interesting, funny and sometimes very candid look into the lives of these comedians.  His guest stars include MICHAEL RICHARDS, RICKY GERVIAS, MEL BROOKS, LARRY DAVID and SARAH SILVERMAN amongst many others.

CiCGC (if I might be the first to coin that term) is on its second season and has a full 14 episodes to catch up on.  Each one is fairly short and falls around the 11-18 minute range.  If all goes well, they plan to produce two 6-episode seasons per year.  Head over to the main website and check it out:

Crackle: Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

Who would you like to see on the upcoming third season?  I am extremely partial to DENNIS MILLER myself and would love to see him and Jerry wax poetic on pretty much anything.

  1. Shows were better in my day dag nabbit. Yeah you’re not a fuddy duddy. Is my music too loud for you? Can I get you some more jello? I’m off to watch reruns of The Neighbors, an alien show which is a total Seinfeld derivitive.

I love this show. Some of Seinfeld’s best work. The Michael Richards episode is really very good.
