Cheerios Does Dads Justice

Cheerios Does Dads Justice

In what just might be the first commercial of it’s kind in the history of TV, Cheerios does dads justice like they haven’t seen since the 1950s.

For decades now, whenever a dad is shown in a TV commercial, he is always an idiot. Always. He doesn’t know how to take care of his kids, he can’t do anything right around the house, and he couldn’t feed himself if his life depended on it. According to advertising executives, dads are true morons who can only be saved by the strong and smart and powerful women who allow them to exist in their world.

Now Cheerios has done this. They broke ground last year by showing a commercial with a mixed racial family that was fantastic. There were some idiots who thought it was bad but what did Cheerios do? They doubled down against the morons and they did another commercial. Cheerios (General Mills) has now come out in support of dads. Check out this fantastic commercial.

Cheerios Does Dads Justice

As a dad who is not a moron, who quit everything I had when I was 17 to be a dad, I appreciate this commercial greatly. I’m tired of being portrayed as a no-nothing moron by advertisers. The advertisers say that they do it that way because women are the main buyers in most houses. To them, that must mean that all these women think their husbands are idiots too. I refuse to believe that women see their men that way. I think this is a commercial that everyone can get behind.

Thank you for getting it right Cheerios. Let’s hope that other advertisers are paying attention. It’s time to stop showing all dads to be idiots. There are plenty of good dads out there. Treating all of us like children doesn’t do anyone any good. You might sell more products if you change your thinking.
