Around the Web – 10/15/13

around the webOh one day when you’re looking back
You were young and man you were sad
When you’re young you get sad
When your young you get sad then you get high.

Ryan Adams

We are 1/2 way through October already. The end of the year is in sight.  Let’s get the news from around the web while you contemplate my Christmas gift.

  • You might not have known, but there is a dress rehearsal for Saturday Night Live that happens before the show airs.  Sometimes skits get cut after dress and don’t make it on the air.  Here is one of those skits along with commentary from the writers of the skit, Bill Hader, Rob Klein, and John Solomon.  Bill Hader says that this is the biggest train wreck in history.  Oh, the skit stars Justin Bieber. (Split Sider)
  • Those Brits have such fantastic talk shows.  Tom Hanks was recently on The Jonathan Ross show and if you want to feel young again and have a smile on your face, watch what Hanks does when a familiar piano shows up on the show.(Seriously OMG)
  • If you aren’t sure what you want to be for halloween this year, former Playboy Playmate Sara Jean Underwood is here to help.  She gives you 67 different costume ideas which is really very helpful of her. NSFW-ish but you know, it’s for research and all that. (Coed)
  • I absolutely love drum line videos.  I never get tired of watching them. Here is a fantastic video of a drum line battle between the Army and the Air Force. Full disclosure here, I am an Army veteran but I think you’ll agree that the Army kicked the Air Force’s ass in this contest. Check out what happens at around 9:25. You’ll see why the service academies and the military is a different world. It’s a brotherhood.  (I Am Bored)
  • We don’t usually do two links from one site in one around the web but when I found the Army/Air Force drum line video, I also found this one and I just couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t share it with all of you.  It’s old apparently but was new to me. Here are 22 mom’s of the year nominations for 2011. (I Am Bored)
  • Let’s cleanse our palate of those terrible moms with 26 pictures of girls in sports bras. (The Chive)
  • The super rich apparently have a different language than us regular folks.  Here are some words that mean different things to us than they do to the super rich (assuming of course that you reading this right now are not one of the super rich). (CNBC)
  • Ever had a bad hang over?  Sure you have.  Knowing our readers, you probably had one just this past weekend.  Well if you have been looking for a cure for that hang over that will allow you to drink the way you have always wanted to, consequence free, Chinese scientists might have discovered the best hang over cure. (Huff Post)
  • I don’t have a job right now so I’ve got plenty of time to find links for you all.  I’ll give you one more for this especially busy day of around the web.  You’ve probably imitated another language before or had friends do it.  We’ve all done it.  Have you ever heard someone pretend to be speaking English?  This is what we sound like to an Iraqi. (Hubski)

Funny post, MW Mike. I love the Iraqi video.
Also, I’d like to re-title that Coed article to “67 Halloween Costumes Only Sara Jean Looks Good In.”

The Iraqi video is very funny. The funniest part to me was how much his friend, the one holding the camera, was laughing his ass off during it.
