around the web for 2-2-14‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
I’m on top of the world, ‘ay
Waiting on this for a while now
Paying my dues to the dirt
I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay
Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay
Take you with me if I can
Been dreaming of this since a child
I’m on top of the world.

It’s finally Super Bowl Sunday. I really hate the two weeks in-between the conference championships and the big game. There is only so much analysis of the game you can take. While you sit and think about who is going to win, let’s get the news from around the web for 2-2-14.

  • I’m sure there will be a call made during the game today that makes people mad. Everyone thinks the refs are idiots. Here is a quiz that NFL referees took at their 2013 clinic getting ready for this season. You think you can do better? (Marketplace)
  • If you are a fan of astronomy, you will love this. This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen showing the universe and where we are in it. (Workshop)
  • If it comes from the folks at TED then you know people are going to be all over it. I have a problem with this list though in that the Midwest TV Guys are not on it. Are we not important enough to TED to make their snooty list? (TED)
  • Here are some behind the scenes pictures from famous movies. I love pictures like these. (Photo Mag)
  • Howard Stern had a birthday party recently and apparently things got out of hand. (Heavy)
  • Not that you need any more reason to hate fraternities, but I’ll give you one. Check out this email this frat bro sent his other bros. This bro is going to learn a lesson similar to those morons out there who have misused the reply all button in Outlook. (BroBible)
  • In our continuing effort to reach out to our female fans, we like to provide links that we think the ladies will like. Here is one for the ladies. (TheChive)
  • Remember when Felix Baumgartner jumped from a balloon from more than 24 miles above earth? It was pretty awesome. For some reason, it’s taken until just a couple of days ago for the GoPro footage of that jump to be released. Trust me when I tell you, it’s every bit as awesome watching this footage as it was watching the jump that day. (YouTube)

  1. The GoPro footage was absolutely amazing. Even after seeing it, it is still almost too impossible to believe. It took a special kind of person to be in that kind of free fall spin and hang in there. On the “duh! no kidding” side of today’s ATW, frat guys are absolute douches.

Hang in there, you guys will make the TED website list soon enough.
