“Please practice gun safety…”
She references a news article in which a four year old boy accidentally shot and killed his father with a gun he found lying around the home of a family friend. Completely tragic, yes. So what was the response from her fans? Support of her reasonable message? No. Warm thoughts and feelings for the family affected by the tragedy? Nope. Half of them drop her completely from their twitter accounts. In her case, “half” equals around 100,000.
So an actress or actor is only ‘hip’ and ‘cool’ when they have no opinions? Or at least when they stick to the safety of mainstream opinions?
Let’s compare tweeting celebrities for a second. Kourtney Kardashian tweets “do ants have dicks?” and still has 8.8 million followers. Amanda Bynes tweets “Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough” (to Rhianna) and still has 1.9 million followers. 50 Cent tweets “Perez hilton calld me douchebag so I had my homie shoot up a gay wedding. wasnt his but still made me feel better.” and has 7.6 million followers. Justin Bieber tweets “Rick James is my Grandfather” and has over 40 million followers. MIDWEST MARK? I’ve never tweeted in my life, and still retain the 10 (or so) people that passionately follow me on MWTVG.
Poor KATEE SACKHOFF… she makes a reasonable and intelligent point and gets de-twitter-ized for it. Further proof why America can’t seem to accomplish anything anymore. “Gun control” is such a taboo topic, that we will probably never bring it up here again on MWTVG. As far as other controversial topics, start expecting thorough and frequent posts about immigration, union rights, unwanted teenage pregnancies, Asian women drivers and merits of formally asking our lawmakers to cancel TWO BROKE GIRLS.
